Dr. Joshua Kollmann Builds Dream Job With Help of College Experts, Inspires Students to do Same
Joshua Kollmann (D.C. ’06) hit the ground running when he came to the College – goals clearly defined. With support from Northeast’s expert faculty, he found out how to achieve those goals and created the sports-related career he always hoped for.
Dr. Kollmann now owns and operates Carolina Sports Clinic near Charlotte, North Carolina and is a team chiropractor for the National Football League’s Carolina Panthers. He’s also a member of the Professional Golf Association’s sports medicine team and provides chiropractic care at the NASCAR professional racing circuit. Not only does Kollmann treat athletes of all levels, but he is also an avid triathlete and competitor himself.
His secret? A clear vision, a solid plan, willingness to work hard, and perseverance. “You [Northeast students] are in just the right place to enjoy similar success,” he says. “Passion brought you here. Don’t lose focus. This profession is amazing!”
Kollmann praises the College and its “amazing faculty” for providing him all the tools he needed to achieve success and recommends that students take advantage of Northeast’s extensive resources, including the academic advising and career support services.
His chiropractic certifications include Active Release Technique (ART), Functional Movement Screening (FMS), and Graston Technique, and he is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
#NortheastBlue Pride and Praise.
Kollmann encourages students to acquire all the skills they can, to attend motion-palpation seminars, and to shadow practitioners. “Pick their brains; decide what you like and what you don’t. Find out who’s doing what you want to do and find out how they got there and how you can get there.” He also advises starting with an action plan for success. He is proud of his education and eagerly translated it into a means both to express himself and to bring relief to his patients. “(Northeast) prepares your hands, so let your hands do the talking. Find ways to get your hands on people and treat them so they will want to come back.”
As far as coming back, Kollmann often returns to speak at the College, eagerly sharing his passion with students. Those special events are always standing-room-only and his clear #NortheastBlue spirt and pride in being a chiropractor come shining through.
