Meet Ethan Loft
Ethan Loft, a Doctor of Chiropractic student in the class of December 2020, was raised in Idlerton, Ontario, Canada, along with two sisters. In addition to playing sports, working out, and hunting, he enjoys playing the guitar and singing.
Ethan completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, with minors in biology and psychology, at Wilfred Laurier University, in Waterloo, Ontario, in 2017. While at Laurier, he played varsity football, participated in the Kinesiology Co-op program, and worked as a research assistant in the university’s Kinesiology Department.
Even as a youth, Ethan wanted to pursue a career that would help him to ease his father’s pain and suffering from an amputated arm, the result of a car accident before Ethan was born. After looking into different options, he decided to pursue chiropractic, not only because it would enable him to help others in pain, but also because it incorporated his interest in the human body. He began looking into schools and came to NYCC for an open house, where he was deeply drawn to the curriculum, the campus itself, and the NYCC community.
The sense of community and comradery is what Ethan likes best about NYCC; he enjoys the idea that all of the students are “in the same boat on our way to the same destination.” His favorite class is Gross Anatomy Lab because he enjoys the hands-on experience with cadavers.
Upon graduation Ethan plans to gain experience as an associate in a practice, with the goal of eventually opening up his own clinic back home in Idlerton. His future goals as a chiropractor are to work with sports teams and athletes to optimize their performance. He plans to use the knowledge and skills that he learns at NYCC to treat his future patients both confidently and correctly.
