Meet Carol Ann Malizia
There’s so many wonderful things to say about her, said NYCC Chancellor Dr. Kenneth Padgett. Just ask any of her colleagues – the world of chiropractic is better because of Dr. Carol Ann Malizia.
A life well lived
Malizia passed away on April 13. “She will be profoundly missed by all of us,” said NYCC President Emeritus Dr. Frank Nicchi. An international leader in the chiropractic and wellness industries, Malizia was a respected public speaker with a passion for women’s empowerment, as well as a fearless advocate for veterans and members of the U.S. Armed Forces. A proud graduate and supporter of New York Chiropractic College, Malizia, opened and led the highly successful Hudson Valley Whole Life Center – a full-spectrum chiropractic practice boasting the motto “Live Your D.R.E.A.M. Life,” where the acronym stands for Diet, Rest, Exercise, Alignment, and Mindset.
Making lives better
Utilizing the foundational principles of chiropractic care and whole-food nutrition, Malizia worked tirelessly to fulfill patients’ dreams of a quality life as well as her own vision of integrative healthcare. She believed vitality and wellness are attainable by all and made it her life’s work to prove – this commitment was consistently recognized. The League of Chiropractic Women presented Malizia with the Legacy Award, their highest honor, for her lifelong dedication to chiropractic.
Words of Remembrance
Her boundless energy and extraordinary passion for the chiropractic profession was inspirational. Carol Ann was a positive influence for so many young people whom she encouraged to pursue chiropractic as a career.

Carol Ann was a friend who always had a smile on her face, a positive attitude and a passion for her profession. She always spread the word about the power of Chiropractic, its benefits and miracles. She loved NYCC, she loved life and she very much loved her family whom she so often spoke proudly of. I will miss her beautiful smile, sense of humor and passion for all she undertook.
– NYCC Trustee Emeritus Dr. Lewis J. Bazakos (D.C. ‘78)
A very special lady and dear friend of so many, Carol Ann will be sorely missed. She was an excellent clinician, caring for athletes and serving her community of Newburgh for nearly 25 years. She was an excellent speaker and encouraging voice for students and seminar attendees. One of her greatest passions was empowering women in Chiropractic, as well as in the military. She served on the board of the Patriot Project, providing Chiropractic care to injured soldiers and disabled veterans and their Gold Star Families.
– NYCC Board of Trustees member Dr. James Powell
She was my first boss, but she was so much more. She was my mentor and friend. She was also someone who was always willing to take the time to demonstrate a more purposeful side of chiropractic. She was mission and purpose driven and her courage came from her need to help people. She was just a wonderful person and I so looked up to her. I am going to miss her.
– NYCC Board of Trustees member Dr. Vinnie Justino (D.C. ‘98)
