Meet Bibo Zhang
Dr. Bibo Zhang graduated from New York Chiropractic College’s Doctor of Chiropractic program in the fall of 2013. While completing his bachelor’s degree in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) at Liaoning University in China, as well as a master’s degree in pediatric TCM, he met several chiropractors and was fascinated by what they did. This fueled his deep curiosity and interest in chiropractic care. NYCC’s grounded scientific curriculum and leading chiropractic research facilities led him to begin his journey toward becoming a doctor of chiropractic in September of 2011. Zhang now practices at O’Keefe Chiropractic Center in Medford, New Jersey, where he treats many patients for acute back pain, provides wellness management, and caters to special populations such as pregnant women and children. He is certified in Webster Technique and is currently completing the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association’s 200-hour Certification Program (CACCP).
Zhang attributes his success in diagnosis and clinical practice to NYCC: “NYCC provides really comprehensive courses.” He stressed the importance of the College’s curriculum and weighing all courses the same. “You think some information might be ‘useless,’ [but] it might help a patient someday,” he notes. He also praises NYCC’s technique curriculum, and urges current students to continuously “learn and practice well while in school.”
Patient care comes first for Zhang; his professionalism and compassion for his patients translates well into treatment plans. He also has a keen eye for suspected conditions confirmed with positive test results, and within his first year of practice identified two spinal pathologies undetected by radiologists.
Zhang and his wife are now permanently located in New Jersey and enjoy spending weekends and evenings in each other’s company.
