NYCC Welcomes Students to Winter Trimester 2021
New York Chiropractic College welcomed both new and returning students on Jan. 6 as the Winter 2021 Trimester began.
Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) students joined M.S. in Applied Clinical Nutrition and Human Anatomy Physiology Instruction program students as they began studies online.
A special virtual orientation was held for incoming D.C. students Jan. 5. The online event provided an overview of the many available student support services and resources, and included greetings from NYCC President Dr. Michael Mestan and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Anne Killen.
Keeping the health of its community at the forefront, NYCC made adjustments to the delivery of the Winter 2021 tri, choosing to begin lecture courses and additional coursework for students in trimesters 1-6 via remote/online means. Students in trimesters 7-10, currently in the pre-clinical and clinical phases of their education, kicked off the term with safe, in-person education as previously scheduled. On Feb. 1, students will return to the Seneca Falls campus to begin hands-on learning, with lecture courses to be continued via online means as appropriate.
"It looks to be a very promising and rewarding term, and we are eager to kick-off this trimester strong," said Dr. Mestan. "Of course, it wouldn't be possible without the continued flexibility and vigilance of our community. Their dedication to following the NYCCBlueWay is commendable.
The College continues to closely monitor the status of the global health pandemic and will continue to follow the actions outlines in its NYCC Reopening Safety Plan, first implemented in the summer of 2020.
