NYCC Spirit Week Features Color Run to Benefit Charity
The annual Spirit Week celebrations at New York Chiropractic College (NYCC), to be held July 16 through 19, are all about community: building community within the College, and benefitting the larger Finger Lakes regional community of which it is a part. To that end, the 2018 NYCC Spirit Week, hosted by the NYCC Student Government Association, will include an all-campus pep rally, volleyball tournament, and a 2K Color Run to benefit a local children's charity.
College community members will come together July 16 through 19 at the Seneca Falls campus for events including a picnic on the lawn, an ice cream social, games such as KanJam and corn hole, music, and a fun Color Run course.
New York Chiropractic College students, staff, and faculty can walk or run the Color Run course for a $2 registration fee. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the Color Run registration will be donated to a local children's charity. The walk/run will be held on Wednesday, July 18, with participants leaving the starting line at 5:45 p.m. Friends, family, and members of the area community are welcome to come cheer on their favorite runner or walker.
NYCC President Dr. Michael Mestan says, "Spirit Week and the Color Run represent the best of what New York Chiropractic College is all about: supporting an environment of health and wellness for individuals of every age and ability, in terms of both physical health and the sense of well-being that comes from being a part of a strong, supportive community."
Spirit Week events include a "Minute to Win It" competition on Monday, July 16; a pep rally on Tuesday, July 17; and the Color Run on Wednesday, July 18. Festivities culminate with lawn games and volleyball at NYCC's "Blue Day" on Thursday, July 19.
