NYCC Bestows White Coats at Fall 2020 Virtual Transitions Ceremony
New York Chiropractic College held its Fall 2020 Transitions Ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 11 a.m.
This ceremony, fully virtual for the first time, marked the transition for 88 Doctor of Chiropractic students into the clinical phase of their education. NYCC celebrated this pivotal moment by presenting each student clerk with their white coat to acknowledge their hard work and dedication.
Awards were presented for academic excellence and Dr. Wendy Maneri, associate dean for chiropractic clinical education and health centers at NYCC, administered the Student Clerk Oath. Students and faculty participated in the ceremony live via Zoom, and the event was streamed live so friends and family could celebrate the milestone moment.
Beginning next trimester, these new student clerks will begin their clinical instruction at one of three NYCC Health Centers. They will also have other opportunities to engage in a variety of clinical experiences, under the direction of faculty practitioners, at partner sites, including community hospitals, complimentary care sites and Veterans Administration Health Centers.
The decision by NYCC to hold this term's Transitions Ceremony online was guided in an effort to keep its community healthy and safe while adhering to state guidelines currently in place due to the COVID-19 global health pandemic.
