Students interested in pursuing a doctor of chiropractic degree have a streamlined option that saves time and money through a renewed partnership between Northeast College of Health Sciences located in Seneca Falls in the Finger Lakes region of N.Y., and Georgian Court University located in Lakewood, N.J.

The program offers Georgian Court students majoring in biochemistry, biology, chemistry, exercise sciences, or health sciences two options:  a 4+3 or a 3+3 program that enables them to complete pre-chiropractic coursework at GCU, and then seamlessly transition to Northeast to continue their chiropractic education.

"The partnership with Northeast College offers our students a unique opportunity to pursue a career in chiropractic medicine,” said Dr. Sachiko Komagata, Director of Integrative Health in the Department of Integrative Health & Exercise Science at the Hackensack-Meridian Health School of Nursing and Wellness at GCU. “Georgian Court offers many healthcare options, but this partnership allows our students to attend GCU for three years and then go directly into the program at Northeast College and receive both a bachelor’s degree and doctor of chiropractic degree."

Students can earn a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Arts (B.A.), and a doctor of chiropractic (D.C.) degree. GCU and Northeast renewed the partnership agreement that has been in effect since 1999.

“Partnerships with colleges and universities are an important part of Northeast College’s commitment to powerfully prepare and educate students to become successful healthcare leaders and fill the needs of the ever-growing healthcare profession," said Northeast College President Dr. Michael Mestan. "We are proud to provide these pathways for students, and it is even more rewarding when we have longtime partners such as Georgian Court University who share this commitment."

Program Agreement Options to Secure Admission to Northeast College

The 3+3 articulation option saves students the cost of one year of tuition by allowing them to spend the first three years at Georgian Court. Once all requirements are met students will be accepted and matriculate into the chiropractic degree program at Northeast. Students are not required to have a bachelor’s degree to enter the program, but those who complete all the requirements will earn a bachelor’s degree from GCU and a doctor of chiropractic (D.C.) degree from Northeast.

The 4+3 track lets students earn their bachelor's degree from Georgian Court, then automatically enter the Northeast Doctor of Chiropractic program. This allows students to earn both degrees a full year faster than it would take to earn each individually.

More information about the partnership and preparation required to secure admission to Northeast is available on the Georgian Court University website, and on Northeast College’s  educational partnership page.
