Northeast College Board of Trustees Holds Winter Meeting, Welcomes New Members
SENECA FALLS, N.Y. - The Northeast College of Health Sciences Board of Trustees held its Winter 2025 meeting on Friday, March 7, connecting with trustees online as well as welcoming Board Chair Dr. Rick Rosa (D.C. ’96) to the Seneca Falls Campus.
Throughout the day-long meeting, the Board heard committee reports on a wide variety of topics, from strategic planning and enrollment management to academic affairs and finance, and more. The Board also received reports from both the College's Faculty Senate and the Student Government Association (SGA).
New Trustees Gowda, Russell Welcomed

The March meeting welcomed two new members to the Board of Trustees: board-certified orthopedic surgeon Dr. Ashok L. Gowda, M.D. and board-certified chiropractic sports physician Dr. Sheri Russell (D.C. ’96).
Dr. Ashok L. Gowda, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder & elbow, sports medicine and hand surgery. A Michigan native, he earned a double major from the accelerated medical program at Thomas Jefferson Medical College and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at New York Medical College. He pursued advanced training through a shoulder & elbow fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital and an AO Fellowship in hand surgery at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Dr. Gowda has provided medical support for professional and collegiate athletes, including the Detroit Lions and Oakland University Athletics; authored numerous scientific publications; and served as an instructor and journal reviewer. Committed to service, he has also participated in healthcare initiatives in New York City and Honduras.

Dr. Sheri Russell (D.C. ’96) has dedicated her career to sports medicine and chiropractic care, blending her passion for athletics with expertise in healing and performance optimization. She earned a B.S. in athletic training from the University of Massachusetts, an MBA from Endicott College and a Doctor in Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College. She is the founder of the Russell Center for Chiropractic and Sports Medicine, where her reputation for maximizing patient performance led to work with the United States Olympic Training Centers and residencies with sports teams and entertainment productions. A Diplomate in Chiropractic Sports Medicine, Dr. Russell integrates eastern and western healing techniques to support athletes, artists and performers worldwide.
About the Board
The members of the Northeast Board of Trustees each bring deep experience in several diverse, key areas of professional expertise, including health sciences, education, financial management and marketing. The Board convenes three times a year to meet with senior leadership of the College, and is collectively dedicated to supporting the mission, values and strategic success of the College.
