Continued Accreditation for Northeast College, High Praise from Council on Chiropractic Education

A new eight-year accreditation cycle has begun for Northeast College of Health Sciences' Doctor of Chiropractic program (DCP) as the Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) granted continued accreditation, awarding the maximum allowed term. Through its assigned Site Team, CCE also commended the College for its comprehensive systems and robust processes leading to continuous quality and student learning enhancements.
First accredited with the CCE in 1977, Northeast College, then known as New York Chiropractic College, was one of the first chiropractic colleges to receive its accreditation status with the CCE. This continued accreditation serves as a testament to the College community and its longtime dedication to providing the highest-quality chiropractic education and premiere student experience to continue to strengthen the chiropractic profession and the patients it serves.
College Community’s Passion Shines Through
On Jan. 10, 2025, Northeast College President Dr. Michael Mestan and Dr. Todd Knudsen, associate provost of institutional effectiveness and compliance, represented the College community and the D.C. program while meeting with the CCE Council in Phoenix, Ariz.
The Council’s questions underscored their recognition of our Doctor of Chiropractic program as a leader in chiropractic education. It was clear they view Northeast as a model for evidence-based practice, innovation and student success. Our entire College community has contributed to this success and high praise from CCE by consistently displaying their collective passion, hard work and shared commitment to excellence.

High Praise for Data-Informed Methods to Enhance Program Quality and Student Learning
In addition to the recent meeting with CCE Staff and Councilors, Northeast College of Health Sciences was visited by the CCE Site Team at its Seneca Falls Campus in September 2024. After the visit, the six-member team created a report in which they commended Northeast’s D.C. program for its exemplary integration of robust program effectiveness processes, which drive continuous quality improvement through data-informed decision-making. The report also commended the comprehensive nature of the DCP’s Quality Patient Care system, recognizing its effective use of outcomes data to enhance clinic operations, patient care and student learning.

These commendations and continued eight-year accreditation from the Council on Chiropractic Education reaffirm the strength of Northeast College’s D.C. program, evolving since its inception in 1919, and reflect the collaboration of the College community and its clear dedication to academic excellence, innovation and continuous improvement.
