Northeast College Board of Trustees Holds Summer 2024 Meeting
SENECA FALLS, N.Y. - The Northeast College of Health Sciences Board of Trustees held its Summer 2024 meeting on Friday, June 21, welcoming many trustees to its Seneca Falls campus as well as hosting trustees virtually from around the U.S.
During the meeting, members of the Board heard reports from divisional committees. Trustees were particularly pleased to receive updates on the progress of the College’s new Long Island branch campus, which was recently officially approved by the New York State Board of Education. Northeast College plans to offer a branch of the College’s Doctor of Chiropractic program on Long Island this Fall 2024, pending final regulatory approvals.
The Board also received reports from both the College's Faculty Senate and the Student Government Association (SGA). Dr. Christopher Borgerding, associate professor, spoke as head of Faculty Senate, and updates from the SGA were delivered by the group’s President Lauren Williams (D.C. ‘24).
As well, the Board reviewed and approved the College’s finalized budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal and academic year.
Rosa Elected to Second Term, Padgett Celebrated
As part of the meeting, Northeast Board of Trustees Chairman Dr. Rick Rosa (D.C. ’96) was elected to serve a second term, beginning June 2025. Rosa is a former College faculty member and currently owns and operates 13 clinics in the Washington, D.C. area. He has served as Northeast Board chair since June 2022.
"Dr. Rosa is an outstanding leader,” noted Northeast President Dr. Michael Mestan. “I have greatly appreciated his vision and counsel, and look forward to continuing to work with him closely as our College grows and evolves.”
Trustees and guests also celebrated Chancellor Emeritus Dr. Kenneth Padgett’s 95 birthday at that evening’s board dinner. Padgett served as the College’s third president, beginning in 1989 until his retirement in 2000.
